Eclipse Committer Member 2010 Results Revealed

The results of the Eclipse Committer Member election are now in!

The elected Committer Member representatives for 2010 will be Chris Aniszczyk, Boris Bokowski and Ed Merks.

With this appointment, Chris Aniszczyk will have served as an Eclipse Board Committer Representative since 2007. His vision for the future of Eclipse is a simple one: “keep building the community so the Eclipse ecosystem can prosper.” He pledges to place a particular focus on modernising the Eclipse infrastructure through GIT and project hosting, and re-imagining the Eclipse Marketplace as an 'appstore' for the Eclipse ecosystem. He also wants to make it easier for small projects to get involved in Eclipse.

Meanwhile, Boris Bokowski is particularly enthusiastic about “the openness, fairness, and overall friendliness of the Eclipse community.' He proposes implementing additional documentation to make life easier for new Eclipse projects. This includes a "new project jumpstart documentation" package, and perhaps a set of exemplary project pages for the fledgling projects to copy and adapt. He also wants to see the existing Eclipse community become more “social” and to build stronger bonds with related communities, such as Apache, Mozilla, and Linux. This will be his second term as a Committer Member Representative.

Ed Merks promises to continue his reputation of regular blogging and his strong presence at Eclipse newsgroups. “I intend to be a visible and approachable technical representative, not a politician,” he writes. He has previously been named Top New Comer Evangelist, Top Ambassador, and Top Committer. This will be his fourth year on the Eclipse Foundation Board of Directors .

The elected Sustaining Member representatives will be Hans Kamutzki, Mik Kersten, and Adam Lieber.
