The open source project DataNucleus has released Access Platform 2.0 a day ahead of schedule. Their standards-compliant Java persistance product provides retrieval of data to a range of datastores using a range of APIs, with a range of query languages.

Version 2.0 introduces support for caching of datastore-specific query compilations and new JPA2 mappings, and support some new JPQL keywords.

DataNucleus 2.0 requires Java Runtime Environment 1.5 or above, and is released under the Apache 2 license. It is available to download from Source Forge.
