CPU Sim 3.5.2 Release

jt

CPU Sim 3.5.2, a Java application for designing simple computer CPU’s at the microcode level, is now available to download. CPU Sim can also run machine-language and assembly-language programs on CPU’s through simulation. It can simulate a variety of architectures, including accumulator-based architectures, reduced instruction set computer-like architectures, or stack-based architectures, such as the Java Virtual Machine.

CPU comes with dialogs for specifying both the number and width of registers, register arrays, and RAMs; and dialogs for specifying the microinstructions used in implementing the machine instructions. Version 3.5.2 comes with a number of bug fixes, and an enhancement that means the operands for a .data pseudo instruction can now be literals or symbols, as long as those characters correspond to labels or equate to names. See the Change Log for more information.

Please note that CPU Sim requires Java 1.5 or later.
