Fourth Release for Apache CODI
The fourth release of Apache MyFaces Extensions CDI 'CODI' has been announced. CODI provides portable CDI extensions for the Java platform. The 0.9.3 release adds pluggable interceptor implementations and StartupEventBroadcaster, and includes support for hybrid view-config/navigation constellations.

Specs2 Scala Tool Reaches 1.0
Specs2 1.0 has been announced. Specs2 provides a library for writing executable software specs in Scala, which comes with forms for writing Fitnesse-like specifications, ScalaCheck properties and mocks with Mockito. It can also integrate with SBT and JUnit tools. Specs2 can be downloaded from the project's GitHub.
BIRT 2.6.2 Fixes Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability
BIRT 2.6.2 has been released. This is primarily a bug fix release, and includes fixes for pagination bugs that could prevent scripts from firing when using a page break interval of 0, and fixes for a security issue with the example Web Viewer, which posed a cross-site scripting vulnerability. In addition to the fixes, a formatter object in the expression builder has been introduced to format dates, strings and numbers within a given expression.

More Collaboration for BeanValidation 1.1?
BeanValidation 1.1 spec lead Emmanuel Bernard has posted his thoughts on what features should be brought into the next release, including logical OR composition, a simple API for building consistent ConstraintViolationExceptions and clarification of the rules for OSGi style containers. He has also laid out a plan for encouraging collaboration with other JSR leads, with the goal of integrating Bean Validation into a variety of lifecycles of the SE/EE platforms.
