Apple To Remove Java From Mac OS X?

Apple announce that, as of version 10.6 Update 3, Apple’s Java port will be deprecated.

Apple have updated the release notes for Mac OS X 10.6 Update 3 and
10.5 Update 8.

As of version 10.6 Update 3 of the version of Java that is
ported to Apple (and consequently ships with Mac OS X) is
deprecated. Apple’s port will not be maintained, and may be removed
from future versions of Mac OS X. The Java runtime that ships with
Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard, and Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard, will
continue to be supported and maintained.
