Document-Orientated Database

Apache CouchDB 0.11.0

Jessica Thornsby

Apache CouchDB 0.11.0 is now available.

Apache CouchDB is a document-oriented database, which offers incremental replication with bi-directional conflict detection and resolution. It can be queried and indexed using JavaScript, and its RESTful JSON API can be accessed from environments that allows HTTP requests.

New in this release, is support for building a Windows installer as part of ‘make dist,’ and an optional ‘raw’ binary collation for view builds where Unicode collation isn’t important. There is also a new option to implicitly create replication target databases, and batching of multiple updating requests.
