New Android version
Android Ice Cream Sandwich later this year
Android users can still look forward to their "Icecream
Sandwich" in autumn 2011. Google Executive Chairman Eric Schmidt
confirmed the latest iteration will get its release in "October /
November" in a public interview with Marc Benioff, CEO of
SalesForce. The much awaited next version of Android will see the
critical merging of the two separate strands of the software.
Currently Smartphones are using Android 2.x with the Honeycombe 3.0
variant having been released later to cater for Tablets – this
version still not being open source.
We have a new operating system, internally known as Ice Cream Sandwich for some reason, Which is being released in October / November Which everyone's really excited about.
