Android Ice Cream Sandwich – Coming in October?

According to CEO of Notion Ink, Rohan Shravan, the launch date for Google's Ice Cream Sandwich will be late October. In the post, he also states that OMAP will be the preferred platform, and that Notion Ink will update their Adam tablet by November. Shravan previously leaked the release date of Gingerbread, posting that "6th December is another big day for Android and you will find out how fast Notion Ink can work. (Eden is extremely compatible with 2.3)" at his blog.

 

Geppetto Puppet Toolset Reaches 2.0.0

The Geppetto toolset for developing Puppet modules and manifests, has reached version 2.0.0. Geppetto's foundation is a model of the Puppet DSL, with validators, parsers, and formatters for translating between a generated manifest or module, and its editable representation. In this release, the selection of the Puppet target can be made in preferences, and Tasks are generated from comments. The existing wizards have been improved, and new wizards have been added, and improvements have been made to validation, including the addition of new cases. Packaged Geppetto uses Eclipse Indigo as base, which brings bug fixes and enhancements. More information is available at the Release Notes.

 

JavaFX 2.0 Beta SDK Build 45 Released

Build 45 of JavaFX 2.0 Beta SDK can be downloaded now. The JavaFX 2.0 release will include a media engine that supports the playback of web multimedia content, and a web component for embedding HTML in a JavaFX application. It will also include FXML, a new XML-based markup language for defining user interfaces.

 

Sonar 2.11 RC Released with New Widgets

A release candidate of Sonar 2.11 is now available. This RC introduces new timeline widgets and a new 'Time Machine' widget that displays measures of required metrics by past version. There is also a new 'Sonar CPD' library for detecting duplications in Java projects, and a new administration page. Sonar 2.11 RC 1 provides a web service for deleting a project, and a unique Sonar Server ID by Sonar cluster, in addition to various bug fixes and improvements. New Release for Oracle Solaris

Oracle Solaris 10 8/11 has been released. This release updates the ZFS file system to use the text mode installation method when installing a system with a ZFS flash archive, and allows users to employ the luupgrade command when installing a ZFS root flash archive. Samba has been upgraded to version 3.5.8, along with the Bash shell, which has been updated to version 3.2. More information on the changes, is available at the 'What's New' page.
