JAX London 2014: A retrospective
Google App Engine for Business

99.9% Service Level Agreement

Jessica Thornsby

Google have announced a business version of their app engine, which allows enterprise applications to be developed on the scalable systems that lie behind Google applications.

App Engine for Business comes with an App Engine for Enterprise Administration Console, which allows customers to keep tabs on all the applications built by their company, regardless of whether they’re the developer or not. The Console features Access Control Lists for determining who has access to the application data and the ability to deploy new code. SQL database is also supported, and App Engine for Business customers can use Secure Sockets Layer on their own domain for all App Engine applications.

App Engine for Business customers get access to premium developer support, and a 99.9% Service Level Agreement. This agreement is defined in the App Engine for Business SLA draft as Google pledging to make the Google App Engine for Business service operational and available for at least 99.9% of the time during the monthly billing cycle. If this is not the case, the customer will receive Service Credits.
